A few words from me about it ......

In "A Mindset for Success: In Your Classroom and School", Tony Swainston analyses how the ways in which schools currently conceptualise and measure success could be limiting students' potential to achieve it. It is critical for schools to move away from the many talent and IQ myths that presently exist and to stop categorising students in a way that damages their ability to grow and develop. Tony outlines key practical steps that can be taken in order to do just this, building instead a growth mindset culture in all classrooms and across schools.

What people have said ...

"A must-read and must-do for school leaders who are serious about creating the very best organisational culture and environment for success. Tony takes you straight to the heart of the matter: schools have to be the ultimate role model for changing mindsets. This can only be achieved by leaders, teachers, students and parents, both as individuals and as a collective, being guided to view things through a different lens. With absolute clarity of thought and process, Tony prods and provokes our conscious at all levels and shows us how we can achieve it."

Michael Gernon, CEO and Principal, GEMS Wellington Academy

A few words from me about it ......

"Who Stole My Brain?" is a book for children - of all ages. It is a tale about a young boy who, like all of us, is faced with challenges that can affect his mindset. His future then seems to depend on the influence of a very important person in his life. Tony's story in the book illustrates the way that our inner beliefs and thoughts impact upon the pathways we choose to take. The book is intended to be read by an adult with a child, either in a classroom or at home. It supports the work of any school that is interested in developing a growth mindset culture. It also supports parents who want to encourage their children to develop a growth mindset, so that they do not limit themselves.

What people have said ...

"This story is sad but very heartwarming. It shows how we can help children to turn their lives around and help them to develop resilience and determination and self belief in spite of what life may throw at them.

By listening to children, by caring and being eternally positive we can help them to succeed."

Elizabeth Wheildon, Headteacher

“As a headteacher in a school that has been working on developing a growth mindset in the staff and pupils for a number of years, I found this book to be an excellent way of opening up discussion with the pupils about the things that will make a big difference to them in their lives both now and in the future."

Paul Bowlas, Headteacher

A few words from me about it ......

"Coaching for Change" is a training course that will equip your school staff with the skills and tools they need to be successful coaches and show them how to use these skills to impact upon whole-school improvement. Through six practical sessions, participants develop a clear understanding of what coaching is, how it can be used powerfully as a force for constructive change in your school and how to use the different tools of coaching most effectively.

A few words from me about it ......

People who are trained can coach each other, coach adults in the school and coach learners in the school, giving participants the skills to raise the potential of colleagues and pupils. This training package introduces techniques and frameworks which can be applied to a range of challenges - whether it's managing the behaviour of a particular pupil, changing an aspect of classroom practice, or taking on a new management responsibility.
