Funding for Training

Tony Swainston Ltd is now registered to deliver training for the LEP skills service.

This new service from the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) helps businesses to identify their skills needs based on their business growth objectives and then find the right training solution.

Small and medium-sized business based in the Leeds City Region that have a budget to put towards training could be eligible for funding of between £500 and £50,000. To find out more about the LEP skills service and apply, visit: www.the-lep.com/skillsservice

The Leeds City Region covers:

  1. Barnsley
  2. Bradford
  3. Calderdale
  4. Craven
  5. Harrogate
  6. Kirklees
  7. Leeds
  8. Selby
  9. Wakefield
  10. York

The types of training courses that could be eligible for the Skills Fund include ILM Leadership and Management programmes and ILM Coaching and Mentoring programmes. (ILM is the Institute of Leadership and Management).

Please note that all skills service applications are subject to approval panels and are assessed on a case by case basis.

In 2016 I will be training 30 members of Battle Back up to ILM Level 5 in Coaching & Mentoring.

The British Legion established and operates The Battle Back Centre, to support wounded, injured and sick Service personnel. The Centre exists to help people achieve their best possible recovery and either return to Service duty or to make a smooth transition to civilian life.

Train the Trainer for STEPS

Working with a great great of people in Kirklees on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th January 2015. I am training them to use the STEPS® programme with parents. 

STEPS® is a recognised learning route for the Level 2 Award in Developing Effective Thinking Skills (QCF) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and is credited and levelled by SCQF at level 5 in Scotland, through the awarding body NCFE. It is one of the key programmes of the Pacific Institute.

In December I have the honour of giving a keynote speech in Saudi for over 900 graduates of the Shell social investment programme called Intelaaqah (also know as LiveWIRE around the world.). Shell LiveWIRE is a Royal Dutch Shell Social Investment Programme, which enables young people to start their own business and create employment. Over 9.2m young entrepreneurs have benefited from Shell LiveWIRE programmes since 1982.
